Welcome to Michigan Ice Dance Academy
A comprehensive approach to the elite training environment.
Our goal is to empower and encourage the athlete to face challenges without fear of failure, and to provide an environment which nurtures performance excellence as much as overall well-being. We recognize athletes as whole individuals, deserving of every opportunity to fulfill their potential.
“The part can never be well unless the whole is well.”

The most decorated U.S. Ice Dancers of all time, Charlie White and his partner, Meryl Davis, are the first American ice dancers to win a World title, as well as the first Americans to win the Olympic gold in ice dancing. Competing together from 1997 to 2014, Davis and White became the longest-tenured ice dancing team in U.S. Figure Skating history. They won two world championships, three Olympic medals, five Grand Prix Final medals in a row from 2009 to 2013, and six consecutive U.S. titles from 2009 to 2014. The two were inducted into the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 2020.
Since retiring from competitive skating, Charlie continued to travel the world, performing on international skating tours while earning his degree in philosophy from the University of Michigan. Charlie has also worked as a figure skating analyst for NBC Sports and supported programs such as Classroom Champions, which connects students in high-need schools with top performing athletes to help them recognize their full potential. Throughout this period, he has also continued to choreograph competitive skating programs across all disciplines for some of the top athletes in the world.
For his next chapter, Charlie hopes to share his expertise and passion with the next generation of ice dancers by creating an environment which fosters growth and wellbeing for his students, both on and off the ice.
